Traveling Italy

What to See in Italy

Italy, the land worth a thousand trips. I have been there a couple of times already and yet I never get the feeling of getting tired of it. That must be because of its incredibly diverse and rich culture that I can’t possibly capture in a page’s worth of words. Italy awaits its visitors with architectural wonders that take you through so many epochs, that you might want to consider taking a history class before going! There is so much art to marvel at, I couldn’t ever get tired of it. And that’s only the human-made wonders. Diverse in different landscapes from the rolling green hills of Tuscany, to the marvelous mountains of the Dolomites to coastal towns with charm, you will never be able to comprehend everything that is Italy!

Rome

Oh, of course, Rome the eternal city! The gelato, the pizza, the Dolce vita in Rome! It is impossible to compare it with anything else in this world. Maybe Paris but it would be like comparing flowers and sunsets. Both are equally beautiful but nothing alike. Rome is like walking through living history and with each passing step, you wander through countless years, from the Roman Empire and the Colosseum to the Baroque beauty of the Trevi Fountain. The list of Instagrammable places in Rome is truly endless!

Florence

Florence or in Italian “Firenze” is one of those cities that fascinated me beyond the usual amount. I loved that its main sights are all within a walkable distance, makeing it easy to explore it. It is a city of art, palpable with every step you take but especially when you chime in the sight of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and of course the Uffizi Gallery, home to the  one and only Nascita di Venere or “Birth of Venus”

Milano

There are cities of art, cities of grandeur or cities of calm. If I had to give Milano a name it would be the city of style. No where else you will find as many stylish people walking the streets of a city than in Milano. And I mean doesn’t it make sense to dress up when you are in front of the duomo of Milano? In combination with the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II both make for the most incredible sights, making your Milano trip worthwhile!

Lago di Garda

Some of Italies most exceptional places are not the cities of Rome or the coastal cities. Some of them are located up in the North and one of them is the incredible Lago di Garda. This turqoise and emerald gem offers so many wonderful activities on and off the water and is lined with picturesque towns that are packed with trattorias and gelaterias that just wait for you to try them out!

Tuscany

Have you really lived if you never road-tripped in Tuscany? There, they have it all: good food, breathtaking natural sceneries and wonders, and all of that while you sleep in ancient monasteries and vineyards. I can not imagine a vacation more picturesque. These places I got to see in Tuscany are simply out of this world and I would go back in a heartbeat to the green hills of the Val d’Orcia and the Cascate del Mulino.

Dolomites

Another area in Italy which is just too good to miss out on. Traveling the Dolomites is something everyone should experience. The mountain sceneries you will be seeing while hiking to gorgeous mountain lakes are simply unlike anything else. The beauty of Lago di Braies or the Alpe de Suisi will knock your socks straight off, I promise!
