The books that I will present to you come in different shapes and sizes, authors and topics, but this won’t matter as they are are interesting in their own ways. So without further ado, let’s see what I have been reading the last year!

Becoming- Michelle Obama
I am a huge fan of Michelle Obama and isn’t she a role model to all of us? When her biography was launched, I saw it in every airport bookstore, presented and luring. I didn’t buy it first, because its dimensions were not quite fitting my small suitcase but luckily I got it gifted for a birthday of mine!
Reading it changed my perspective towards my studies. Pursuing a bachelor’s degree, while working and blogging is very hard, but Michelle Obama motivated me, to work and study even harder.
The Big Five For Life – John Strelecky
Purpose and motivation are big things to think about. It is hard to find something to find something that will keep you going on and on, but John Strelecky is here to help.
He wraps his insights and messages into a lovely story, that really holds the potential to make you cry. But the more important are his simple explanations of daily things and matters that will turn your thinking upside down and will clear your sight for the better.
Zero Waste Home – Bea Johnson
I am really in love with sustainability and minimalism and Bea Johnson is clearly the queen of both! Living with only a jar of trash each year, she invented the Zero Waste lifestyle. In her book ‘Zero Waste Home’ she describes all the different ways to refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle and rot all the things that we consume so unmindfully.
For me it was life changing as I discovered a simple lifestyle that would feel so good, clear and focused. Without my wasteful habits, my life got healthier, wealthier and more mindful, which I absolutely love!

Magic Cleaning – Marie Kondo
I hesitated to put this book in this list because it is the second book about minimalism and mindfulness in here but I just couldn’t leave the principles of KonMari behind. In case you didn’t hear about it, ‘Magic Cleaning’ describes a method on how to tidy up your belongings in a way that you will continue to live in a clean and tidy space. If you follow this method you can improve your life for the better. Letting go of clutter will make you happier and focused!

The History of the World in 21 Women – Jenni Murray
In case you ever looked for some role models, check out Jenni Murray’s ‘The History of the World in 21 Women’. Jenni Murray tells stories about remarkable women’s life in an entertaining and beautiful way. The women she writes about are pioneers, coming from all different countries, backgrounds and disciplines.
Reading it will make you feel connected to these women. They are not so different from you in the end and they had in common that they wouldn’t let anyone set boundaries for them that would be reasoned by their gender.
And that’s it! These are the books that I did not only loved to read but that also inspired me beyond the usual entertainment factor. Do you have any highlight that I should check out? Let me know in the comments!
